Builders set the fee. The floor is not negotiable.

HIP-3 lets deployers manage front-ends, oracles and market makers while sharing or retaining trading fees. hip-03 keeps that. What we add is a protocol floor the builder cannot zero, and a 500,000 HYPE bond that is not a fee — it is a slashable deposit.

Four numbers, not a mystery

taker / maker

Set by the builder at deploy, changeable later. Typical books print 4 bps taker and 1 bp maker. The engine charges them on notional, the same way HyperCore already does.

protocol floor

0.5 bps taker, 0 bps maker. Burned. A deploy that tries to go below the floor is rejected; a fill that somehow did is a slash condition.

builder remainder

Everything above the floor, minus 18% to the validators who run the shared engine. This is HIP-3's “share or retain” in concrete arithmetic.

HYPE bond

500,000 HYPE locked for the life of the market plus a 14-epoch cooldown. Not a listing fee. Returned if the market is closed cleanly. Slashed if it is not. See staking.

Send to 100 people in one transaction and the 10-vbyte overhead and the input cost are shared across all of them. One transaction per recipient pays that cost 100 times over.
